Thanks for all the great information.
It sounds like the websites that I have been reading are just not accurate. Funny, because AAA even says there is reciprocity on towing. I did a search last night on Google and found several states that coroborate that too: howstuffworks.com, towingworld.com readybrake.com. That's really what prompted my question to you all.
I'll be sure and make note of any of the states mentioned, especially Cali (I don't have any desire to go there anyway in my new coach. I spend enough time flying in there for work). I had been thinking of purchasing a V-Nose stacker with a 26' box, which would put it at about 30' overall (figure I can get 7 bikes upstairs and the Jeep and tools and workout stuff down and still be under 15k). that will keep me under, or about, 75' and sounds like that is pretty safe for the western states at least. That's primarily where we will be hanging out.
Primarily west of the Miss. Any states that I should keep my BIG trailer out of in that area? I know that a lot of the eastern states will probably be an issue, but won't be out there a lot. I do have a smaller 18' V-Nose enclosed hauler that I can fit 5 bikes in so I guess I'll just keep that one too in case I need to go somewhere "under the radar".
One more question though. How do these guys with the Super C class, HUGE MH's, that are in the 54' range and tow a 35-40" stacker get away with it in the racing industry? I'm also a big NASCAR fan and I see these rigs all the time at the smaller local races that I frequent. Seems that they could only tow a 10' trailer if they wanted to stay legal in most all the states. ??????????
