Your biggest issue will be seeing sites in the cities, as driving and parking that size vehicle will be problematic. In those situations, car rental, public transportation, and using campground shuttle service should work.
If you decide on a motorhome rather than a tow vehicle and trailer combination and latter decide you can't live without a tow vehicle, you can always purchase later.
