Since you're coming from the UK, I assume you're coming here to see something besides the campground. An RV(either a B or C) is too tall to fit in a parking garage and too long to fit in a metered space on the street. Not a show stopper, but you could wind up parked a long way from what you came to see.
Enterprise rents cars, including delivering them to you and picking them up, but they may or may not rent to foreign nationals due to insurance concerns. Might not be a problem, but you don't want to find that out after you're here. Better to contact them before the trip.
When my parents decided to tour the UK, they found out (before they left the US) that they couldn't drive a rental due to being over 70, so I got a free trip. Good for me, expensive for them.
One other thing to move from the back of your mind to the front. We drive on the right side of the road and yield when turning left. And if you're on foot and crossing the road in the middle of the block, we look to the left before stepping into the street. If you forget that, you could become a hood ornament (or should I say bonnet ornament). Have a wonderful visit.
