I'll disagree with most everyone. It would be fine for a vacation, but what you are doing is basically living in it for nearly a year. That's a big difference. If you go with the RV, also buy a cheap car that is towable all four wheels down. Near the end of your trip, sell the thing. You would get most of the money back, and it would be much cheaper than renting cars here and there and probably actually pay for itself in fuel savings alone. That RV is going to get 10 to 15 miles per gallon, while the car should get nearly twice that.
