I think a 30 footer is reasonable but it really depends on what you want to see and do. If you want to visit big cities like New York, LA, San Francisco, you can always park away and take metro's in. If your going to visit Natural Wonders like Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, a 30 is a perfect size.
