We did our first year with a 36' class a and no toad. Had a motorcycle and scooter/moped. We used those as much as possible to cut down on fuel expense, but when we reached our destination, we found a place to park and did what shopping etc we needed to do, or stopped somewhere along the way. Every town, even a small one will have a place to park - grocery store, dollar general parking lot, grain mill, trucking company, something, and when we asked to park for a couple hours, or to take a break, no one ever said that we couldn't. Of course we tried to park out of the way of other traffic.
