Our vacation last summer was not bad but got DW very upset. My step broke and would not retract. I ended up fastening it in the up position to get home a couple days earlier than planned. We have 3 steps on ours and it was too much for me using a walker and her with 2 knee replacements. We used a step stool, then the seat on my walker to get into the coach. Then we had to get those 2 items back into the coach. We could pull the walker up by the handle and then the little step was left out there. DW had a grabber that she remembered the we used to get the step inside. On the way home she declared "we are selling this as soon as we get home". It took a weld to get a nut onto the step and it worked great. She kept giving me items to put back into the MH. I asked if we were going to sell it and she said not yet. We are now planning next year's trips.
It's funny how you can get so frustrated and want to walk away- but the allure of getting away from "normal" life sings it's siren-song and lulls you back.
