A Few Questions from a new TT owner!!!

Another update,

I got the blank tank empty, that was SUPER NASTY, the dam hose had a crack, not good at all. I tossed all of the stuff the seller gave me and bought all new, I dont want that to happen again. I also made sure I bought one of the clear adapters so I can make sure its clean.

The clean up for the waterdamage is coming along very slowly, SOOOO much rotted wood, I have removed all of the bathroom, the hot water heater, the closet, the bathroom wall adjacent to the rear wall and the rear 4' of ceiling.

When I was removing the propane line, I noticed a small kink, not too bad, but you can tell it was kinked at one time. i was going to replace it, but do i have to if the kink didnt break the copper?

I also plan on getting new tires, how important does tire size matter on a trailer? I understand I need tires that can handle the weight, but what about the overall size? I think I need 155/80/13, would it matter if I got 185/80/13? I only ask because I am having a hard time finding tires. I was going to get some through Amazon, its free shipping and they all come with rims, but I dont know how old they would be.

Posting pictures is easier than you might think. Have a picture on your phone or computer that you can upload to the internet. You have two options from this point. You need either a public site like

tinypic.com, or photobucket.com to host your pictures.

or click on this link LinkOnce there drag and drop your photo into the box. It will return a address to you. Highlight and copy that address. Now come back to this thread and click post. On the posting page click on the icon at the top that looks like a yellow postcard (fifth from the right)and paste the address into the top box and click finish.

I like to use option one and host my own photos because that leaves me in control of if and when they get deleted or modified. But for simple photos that I don't really care about I just use the link above.

Put the pics on a free website, I use Photobucket, but there are others. Then put a link to the pic in the message. I will put one of my pics in the message. you can "quote" this message to see the format I used to get the pic to show.

The RR of the trailer is gone.

What is a RR?
If there isn't anything inside that is in the way of the rotten area, you can start by removing the interior paneling. You will find rotted framing. Replace it. If the ceiling rafter ends are still whole, no worries. If the ends are rotted, ledger in new ends back to solid material. If the floor is sound, no worries. If the floor sheathing is spongy, there is rotting in the floor joists and flooring sheet. Replace it.

These can be time consuming repairs but material cost is not that bad. I restored my Starcraft from the interior, the whole enchilada, and material price was around $500, including all the insulation.

Oh the heat gun works great getting the crapper stickers off.

And when I say I ripped out the closet, I removed it with caution, it's still usable with minor repairs, very little water damage in that, just at the bottom.

Well gents I have an update.

I found some of that awesome stuff, and it is....AWESOME......spray it on, count to 30, and wipe off. Great stuff

The black tank is full, I flushed the can, and it is almost to the flap thing.

I also found the battery cable was disconnected at the inverter, I hooked it back up and charged the battery. Works great.

Still need to clean the fresh tank.

But now I have a serous problem. I found water damage. I think the roof leaks. The RR of the trailer is gone. I was getting ready to clean the awning and I noticed the screws that hold it in on top moved a bit, I climbed a ladder to look at them and they were loose. I tried to cinch them down and they just turned, I removed one and it just popped out with rotted wood it the threads. I looked deeper and it's the entire wall and floor and ceiling in the corner. To make it worse, it's the same corner where the water heater is and the wall where the bathroom is.

I'm a handy guy and good with tools, but is this something I should try? I already ripped out the closet that was in that corner and removed the water heater.

I'm in the military and we dont really make a lot of money so I can't afford to take it to a shop.

X2, Meguires is good, and NuFinish is very good too and economical and last a long time. Get something that's easy to wipe off, lots of good choices out there. Lately I've been using NuFinish.
