Abbreviations used on this site

For newbies such as ourselves, it could be a bit frustrating learning the more common abbreviations used on this forum.

Here is a start of a list. Feel free to contribute more.

4 DOWN = Vehicle towed with all tires on ground
5er = 5th Wheel Trailer
CC = Crew Cap Pickup
CG = CampGround
COE = Corps of Engineers, or, Cab Over Engine
CTD Cummins Turbo Diesel
CW = Camping World
D/A = General Motors Duramax/Allision diesel engine/trans combo
DH = Dear Husband
DP = Diesel Pusher
DW = Dear Wife
DRW = Double Rear Wheel, or, Dually
FRED = Front End Diesel
HD = Heavy Duty
HF = Harbor Freight
HTT = Hybrid Travel Trailer
IMHO = In My Humble Opinion
LD = Light Duty Truck
LED = Light Emitting Diode
MDT = Medium Duty Truck
MH = MotorHome
NBS = New Body Style
PA = Passport America
PSD = Power Stroke Diesel
PU = Pop Up Camper, or, Pickup Truck
PW = Pop Up
RV = Recreation Vehicle
SRW = Single Rear Wheel
TC = Truck Camper
TH = Toy Hauler
TOAD = Anything being towed
TOW = Vehicle to tow with
TT = Travel Trailer, or , Thousand Trails
TV = Tow Vehicle
UPS = Uninterruptable Power Supply
Wi Fi = an over-the-air connection

    LOA: A somewhat nautical term used for Length Over All, bumper to bumper or bumper to pin.

    I guess we could call the inside measurement wall to wall as LOD, Length On Deck.

    Yes! We need an ASS (Acronym Support Specialist) on this site...

    I agree. The whole DW and DH stuff is kind of annoying and I don't know when that all started but I assume the why part is just laziness. I'll type "my wife" instead of DW for the rest of my life and it may cost me 5 minutes of my life in total. I don't need to use some abbreviated term of endearment I've never used in my life.

    Stuff like TT for travel trailer or TV for tow vehicle makes more sense as these are acronyms for words I actually use.

    Anyway, carry on...

    SPPF = Seat of Pants Pucker Factor.

    A an exponentially increasing scale used to describe the amount of braking suddenly required when someone cuts you off.

    The TV is the one that is always misleading to me. I immediately think Television sets - not 4WD trucks....

    I usually just go ahead and spell the words out. Doesn't cost any more money to be better understood in your comments. Everyone seems to think they 'HAVE' to make very brief comments. I have no idea where all of that came from. I certainly don't follow those tactics in my comments haha..

    FROG stands for Forest River Owners Group :)
    I thought it was Front & Rear On Ground. ;)
