One thing that we have with us, and have had for years with 5 RVs, is a torque wrench with socket to fit the lug nuts. Every RV that we have owned over the past 50 years, occasionally has a loose lug nut. In fact the owners manuals for ours recommends checking and tightening the lug nuts of a regular basis.
I have noticed on our RV's and also our ranch trailers that the aluminum wheels seem to have loose lug nuts more often than the steel wheels, but all have a loose nut from time to time. I have seen a wheel come off rigs on the highway from time to time. I have also noticed rigs with a loose wheel that was close to coming off. It has never happend to us with tight lug nuts.
