Advice on best smog check facility in San Diego area?

I have a 1995 Damon Intruder (Chevy 454) that needs a smog check. It runs great but I'm just a little nervous about the smog check. This will be my first check with this (my first) rv. Any suggestions for a good facility in the San Diego area?
Thank you,
Aaron

  • Just wanted to say thanks for the replies, it passed with flying colors!
  • The CATS need to be hot to work.. Just drive from point a to point b on surface streets, and they don't get hot enough, shut it down to cool while you wait your turn and you are in trouble. I would Hot dog it a few times right before they hook it up and you will have a better chance of passing.
  • If you're hesitant about your vehicle, change the oil, oil filter, air filter and any other pollution related filters before the test. Depending on how long it's been, new plugs and wires never hurt.

  • Thanks, I've got a good grade very close, I'll be sure to drive up it first. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised by passing the the first time!
  • I just go to the local independant guy and have always had good luck. My 1986 454 passes everytime. It sits for months without being driven.

Before taking it to be smogged I get it up on the freeway or a local 6% grade and drive it for about 10 miles and then head for the shop once it's good and warmed up.

I'm always surprised when it passes.
