We rented RV's in 2004, 2005 an 2006 as we didn't have a tow vehicle that was set up.
It was a big pain in the beee-hind getting rental as they could not pick us up (yes, Enterprise couldn't). There were no rentals in Sedona, AZ, unless you flew into the airport (could be different now).
In Sedona, we did find a 'used car rental company' that worked out fine. But, you have have to get there. A couple of cities in those years didn't even have a rental car company to rent from (Guernville, CA comes to mind).
Nothing like having your own toad when needed. We have been known to travel across the country and never even unhooked it.
