What's your budget? I'm sure the pop ups would work but I also think it would get small quick. How about a used 1/2 ton pick up (a couple years old, like a lease turn in) and a used travel trailer? Find out how much it would be to store the trailer first and budget that into your trailer purchase. Are you close to any open country, like farmland? Maybe someone allows trailers on their land to store for a fee cheaper than a lot?
