Have you looked at a Toyota Forerunner? Pretty sure it's 5,000 lb.
I should have added that I've tent camped since I was small so the move from tent to PUP was a huge upgrade. I've been in a tent in rain and in a PUP and rain and there is no comparison. I do like hearing the crickets, frogs, etc. and it's one of the things I will mourn when I go to a hard side (which will probably be when kids are out of the house).
One thing about a PUP is you have to control condensation but it's not hard once you get it figured out. I use gallon tubs like Damp Rid but there are different brands. Stopped our problem cold.
On tents, I grew up in Louisiana so I know heat and humidity. Do NOT go to Fort Wilderness in July in a tent. I camped in the woods in the winter and they beach in the summer. You need a breeze. A breeze also helps with mosquitos.
