An F150 Ecoboost crew cab with a canopy on the back makes for an excellent family vehicle. The F150 will probably get the same (or better) gas mileage as a Toyota 4Runner.
My husband drives a Duramax crew cab which was my daily driver for years. When he took it over and we were looking for a vehicle for me, I wanted another truck with a canopy but he refused to own two trucks. I ended up with a 4Runner which got horrible gas mileage for a Toyota V6.
