Anybody had an opportunity to visit a Membership Campground after their RV purchase?We really liked the whole concept but was not ready to lay out the kind of money they were asking... Who feels the same?

I think many feel the same way. Memberships do not work for everyone. I don't have one and don't want one.Others love them.What are you selling?

A waste of Money for me. I stay for a month or two at a time. Their plan did not suit me at all.Or at least a week if I am site seeing.

I feel the same!When we purchased our first TT, right there at the dealer we were directed to a table where a rep was selling Thousand Trail memberships. They told us a free week-end camp site with the purchase of the camper! Well, we went, and the only requirement was we had to sit through their high pitch sales wall-a-pa-loo-za!At the camp ground, they were careful to position all the new recruits to different campsites that were quite a distance from each other. This way, the risk of one "recruit" talking to another was minimal. BUT! We found a couple, and they'd already been through the presentation and when they told us the price we were in SHOCK! That's when we got EXTREMELY MAD at the RV dealership for setting us up! Boy were we mad!Well, our presentation was not until around 11:00 am on Sunday morning, so at 8:00 am, we packed up and left! Never had the high pressure sales pitch, and those folks told us it was HIGH PRESSURE once you were there!No one ever said a word to us about ditching out! AND we've never attempted another Thousand Trails again! After 15 years or so, my wife and I are STILL mad at that dealership for doing that to us! I'm glad we had the gall to ask questions from other campers!And that was the very last time we ever were even remotely close to one of those "free" vacations or cruises, or resort weekends.... NEVER again!For the price they were requiring for the initial membership, I don't think in the last 15 years we've spent near that much on campsites all combined! By the way, that RV dealership was Tom Raper in Richmond, Indiana. Camping World bought them out years later! I'll still never go back to that dealership, even though Camping World owns it now! We're still THAT mad at Tom Raper for stunt! We were much younger, relative new to RVing, although we'd owned a pop-up for years, we'd never encountered anything like THAT before! AND will never fall for it again!(Run Forest! Run!)

When I purchased my first trailer (used), I got a free, one year membership in Thousand Trails. The membership was a zone membership. No pressure.. free one year. I bought a new 2016 trailer, and have another years free zone membership. Again, no pressure. They call at the end of the year, I say no, thanks, and that's the end of it.Mike

We are members of TT {35years} and have met a lot of campers who bought a new RV and a one year free membership came with it. And a lot of campers signed up after the one year was up. The zone membership is a good deal at the present time. Two zones for the price of one. Most say there was no high pressure involved My son had a one yr free and when the year was nearly up a sales personcalled and asked him if he was going to sign up. My son said "no as he was two busy to use" The salesperson "Thank you and have a nice day"

Many have the same feeling.. I will tell you about one Membership outfit that is different.

Thousand Trails

They offer what they call a "Zone Pass".. Basically here is how it works.. They have sliced the USA into five zones. For around 500-600 bucks, You buy a ONE YEAR membership in ONE zone. You get 30 nights free camping plus very low cost (3.00 a night I think) after that. 2 weeks in one week out, all the parks in the zone.

IF you like, you can renew, or even upgrade at the end of the year. But if you do not like you send them a letter saying "We are no longer interested" and .. That's it.

Far as I know they are the ONLY company offereing a one year "Trial" membership.

The Flip Side.......

Thousand trails parks are generally underfunded and are generally going down hill in terms of facilities condition.. But then this is common among many of the Membership outfits. .and they are still doing at least minimal maintenance.

I'll give you some feedback on your website. It has NO useful content. It refers people to call you on the phone. That's an automatic turn-off. If you can't post what you have for sale and give details on your own site, I know I won't call.
