We purchased our 6 yr old TT from a coworker and it had no smells in it at all and they had 3 kids! Guess the kids were all house broken...LOL
Maybe try a good O-zone filter?? 10 years ago my house burned down and what things were salvaged had a terrible burned wire smell on them. One of my coworkers loaned me a Breeze O-Zone filter made my Echo Quest. I had zero faith in that thing, but took it to be polite. Much to my surprise it worked SLICKER then a whistle! It nukes almost all carbon based smells. Eventually I went and bought my own. I don't use it often but when I do it WORKS. I bought a set of antique encyclopedias a few years ago and they were m-u-s-t-y. I put them in the bathroom, put the Breeze filter in there on the sanitize setting and closed the door. Presto.. funky smell gone.
If you have any friends who have one of those o-zone filters give it a try. I swear by ours! The manager of our local Super 8 admits they use one on rooms that have had "smelly" occupants.
