Good used trucks of any flavor are hard to come by if you want a deal. The good economy and cheap fuel, combined with the low used inventory due to the past economy and the undesirable early dpf diesels has made trucks spendy.
Lots of trucks for sale around vegas through and think about this.
If you have to spend a couple grand extra to get what you need, how does that compare to what you'll spending on cabs and rentals etc?
What's your budget? $5k today for a truck is like buying a $2500 or less heater from 10 years ago.
However $15k should get you into a nice HD gasser.
Sounds like you lost your hitch etc with the truck, but you got a settlement that covered all that stuff?
Another option is getting a TT for now, then you don't have to spend any extra on a fiver hitch.
