Bathroom Fan Not Working

It's not that kind of fan, like in the living area.
It's working intermediated now.

Coming in late so perhaps problem is solved...

But, one other idea...Some fans have moisture sensors that will shut it down if they think its raining...

The switch that works with the lid is probably corroded from moisture, they are not meant for a humid environment, I bypassed ours totally oxidized and stuck in off position.

The `open lid switch' could be bad or the element upstream of the switch containing the resistors to drop the voltage and provide the three fan speeds.
Tracing the voltage will tell her a lot. It may be time for a pro...(no disrespect to your Wife)

Trace voltage back from fan motor with a meter or tester.

New fan motor? Had to change one of ours.

On my (cheap OEM style, very non-fantastic) bathroom vent fans,the screen underneath sometimes works its way up and interferes with the fan blade, either making a very loud scraping noise or stopping it altogether. The solution, of course, is to wiggle the screening down a shade until the blade is free to turn properly. I guess a more permanent solution would be to make some sort of a spacer to hold the screen away and attach it to the fan motor mounting brackets at an appropriate location...or install a more nearly fantastic fan.

Roof vent needs to be open far enough for spring switch to turn on. Turn knob to on and fan speed. Not all fans have a wall switch.
