Assuming this is your Champion 2000i generator and the 120VAC receptacle. According to the generator specs this receptacle is only good for 1600WATTS or 13.3AMPs AC max. I see it has 14AMPS MAX stamped on the front panel.

What adapter are you using to connect your 30AMP shore power connector to the generator. You should be using an RV30A-15A long adapter cord like this (can get at WALMART). All THREE conductors must be used. Some old adapters may have the ground plug cut off. With this setup you should also be OK to use a good HD 50-foot long extension cord (10-3 or 12-3) connected to a good properly wired 120VAC garage receptacle in your house. Just run this out to the trailer and plug the 30A Shore Power cable into the end of the extension cord using the same RV30A-15A long adapter shown above. Again all THREE conductors must be used.

If you are setup like this then your 2KW generator should be able to power-up the 30AMP trailer with only a few 120VAC trailer appliances to be used usually one at a time otherwise it will trip down your generator.
Just passing all of this along so that everyone is on the same page...
This is what I look like running my OFF-ROAD POPUP from my 2KW Honda EU2000i generator when camping off the power grid.

My RV30A-15A adapter is a special one which is not available anymore but the long version I described above is what you need to be using. Using the short round plastic version RV30A-15A adapters are prone to get hot on you and will melt down your RV cable as well as the 120VAC generator receptacle. Probably not a good idea...
