Battery questions

OK, I have been looking through several forums and have read a lot about batteries for RV's and I see that a lot of people have a lot of different opinions regarding what kind and size batteries are best. I found a really good deal on some very large deep cycle batteries and I would like to know if anyone has used this size/type of battery before and what your experience was like. Did they work well for running the RV? Did you use solar panels at all with them? Please let me know; I am very interested in buying some of these if they will work well with a RV.

  • Thank you very much for the insight. Do you think that these are listed at a good price? I can't find anything even close, but I have never bought them before.
  • I have used them and consider them one of the best 8D AGMs available. Right up there with Rolls. Be sure the battery tray can handle the load at 170+ lbs. each. I have 645 watts of solar which worked very well.
  • What I really want to know is if anyone has any experience using these.

  • What voltage are the current batteries?
Are they coach, chassis or both?
If they are coach batteries I would suggest six volt batteries wired in a series parallel configuration. Six volt batteries are normally available at Costo or Sam's Club for around $80 each.
  • The used RV that I am looking at has 4 batteries currently; they need to be replaced.
  • You need to decide what kind of RV you will have.

Some will only have room for one battery.
Some will have room for six batteries.

How will you decide how many to buy otherwise?
