LLEOPOLD was correct, as was OP. Old Guy, unless you are towing triple or driving a MH over 40 ft., no problems coming into CA. However, if you are in a MH over 40 ft., you do have restrictions on what exits you can take or roadways you can travel on.
And, as LLEOPOLD said, CA does recognize, generally, other state licensing requirements. It is not like you have to know every state's license requirements before entering that state, unless triple towing or over length.
An aside: When I bought a 5er that weighed over 9,999 lbs., I looked up the requirements and found out about the 10-15,000 requirement. I went to DMV and it took two weeks to find a test to give me. Finally, they gave me a class C and RV written. I believe they now have their act together. I know CHP does.
