when I discovered that Maryland required special licensing for over 26,000 lbs. I asked my dealer if they warned new purchasers of DPs about this, and the answer was no.

I only spoke to driving the vehicle.. Not all vehicles are legal in all states, Example, Towing doubles, and such.. Some places allow it some do not, even within a state some places may dis-allow towing doubles. (City or county rules)
But if the vehicle is legal, and you are legal to drive it in your "HOME" state, you are good anywhere the vehicle may legally be driven.
Do respect "No vehicles over 10 feet high signs though.. A 12 foot tall RV ... Won't fit.
