As for those pointing out how your home-state's DL rules follow you: You can mess that up by having a mixture of DL and vehicle licensing states (i.e. DL in one state, TV/RV licensed in another).

In that case you're initally at the mercy of the LEO's feelings about you and what attracted his/her attention (with the court's ability to sort it out later).
