I am glad for the forks that could and do a lot of traveling in their early years of life. There will always be someone with more cash and some just getting bay.
At almost 61 I feel I really don't have a lot to complain about. I have a good wife that we been married for almost 40 years now. Two sons in there thirties that we put through private grade and high school and then help them both through college. The boys are very responsible, proud of them and the wife and I are very close to them.
I been a laborer for all my life. Went to college for a couple of years that didn't work out. Finally after 14 years of working in all types of weather I worked up to become an electrician. Well, all in all thanks to God, life has been not all that bad.
I started almost four years ago looking to replace are old 92 24ft. Lance 5th wheel. I didn't want a fix or repair daily 5th wheel anymore. I have done must of my own remodeling and fixing of car and houses through my life and was just a little tired of a Geo-Metro type RV. Hate fixing a RV for several days wile being on a 2 week vacation.
At first I though I could find a nice used 5th wheel in the 20K to 30 thousand range. Really didn't find what we were looking for in a unit under 28 foot long (so far). Well, I move up a little I said/thought a couple of years ago to 30K range. Yes there is more verity to choose from, but you better have the truck to be able to tow it safety. Finally found the answer at RVSEF or rvsafety.com. More and more it is harder to find 5th wheels in the 30 foot and shorter range and the weight of a 5th wheel in 28 foot to 35 foot can be more that a 3/4 ton truck can pull safety like my old 99 2500 diesel.
Going on four years now and many long hours of studying RV's, towing
and looking for the right RV, we just might of found something out of state. Ho, yes, the wife was and is just about ready to loose it if I keep spend soooooo much time researching and looking for the right RV.
If everything works out I hope to purchase a used RV that would of cost $100,000 in it day for around 40k or less. Ya, I known, we all have are little dreams, but this just might work out.
