Before a trip should I turn off the water of my house?

I turn off the main valve of the water supply of my house but some tell me to add antifreeze in sinks and toilets to prevent roaches from coming up the pipes if the pipes dry up. Is this a good idea?

I turn the main water valve off in my summer home during the winter and our Az winter home off during the summer. It gets plenty warm during the summer in Az and I have never had problems in 15 years with pee traps in my homes nor all my rental properties that have Park Models on them. I say turn your water valve off
