My in-laws towed a Starcraft trailer similar to your choices with a Honda minivan. They had to get rid of it after the first season due to the stress my FIL endured while towing - him and my MIL only. He could not sustain 60 mph. Took them over two hours to reach a destination 80 miles away. He had a hitch installed and now every time he backs out of a driveway or goes over a speed bump, the hitch receiver scrapes the ground.
Since your saying you need a hitch installed, your Caravan most likely is not set up to tow. This means no transmission cooling, no brake controller, inadequate tires, and above all low payload. Considering that the front wall of a travel trailer is like a sail, you will have difficulty getting up to speed, and the weight of occupants, stuff in the van, the weight of the hitch and the tongue weight of the TT will exceed your payload.
Your first choice - FR Salem Cruise Lite FS 175BH has a gross vehicle weight that exceeds your tow capacity! The cargo weight is only 771 lbs. Not to much for 5 people. I think towing anything big enough for a family of 5 with a Caravan would result in that nightmare you referred to. BTW, tow capacity is an absurd number calculated by towing a flat weighted trailer with a thin guy driving. Maybe a little extreme, but could be dangerous.
Consider towing with a more substantial vehicle. Good luck to you.
