Buying used is a very good choice but I would highly suggest finding your TT first and then find a good match with a tow vehicle. Not all TT or 1/2 ton trucks are equal... meaning there are plenty of heavier, smaller TTs and also, many 1/2 ton trucks with very limited payload and not a good RV hauler. Buy the used TT and have it weighed and then expect to potentially load an average of 1000lbs of personal gear in it. Do not bother with a TT dry weight where that number is virtually useless... you are much better off using the TT GVWR or calculate via weighing + 1000lbs. Then find your proper TV which can adequately handle that specific loaded TT number.
