You have actually asked two completely different questions and may not even realise it.
Boondock is one thing: Spending time where there is only nature to deal with and no nearby services of any kind.
Walmarting is different: Overnighting (only) in the parking lot of a commercial establishment.
If you were to be clear about which is your concern, you can get better answers.
If you boondock, you better bring in as much water as you will need.
If you are Walmarting, there are lots of places that you can take on potable water, but you may have to hunt for it.
We rarely boondock, but we Walmart anytime we are traveling to a destination that is more than a single road day.
