USPS has the worst tracking system in the world. I have no doubts that the letter was likely lost by them. Makes life a bit more difficult for the OP, but at this point, it is what it is. Next time, a extra few bucks for UPS or FEDEX overnight shipping would be money well spent.

USPS is, by far, the most inept mail carrier available. I cringe whenever I find that somebody has sent me something via the Post Office. I avoid them like the plague.
