Oh jeez! Obviously, NO method is 100% foolproof. To state that tracking will do "no good" is ridiculous.
Tracking with signature required, using a competent carrier is 99+% accurate.

Tracking will do no good. We had tracking that showed the package was delivered to a particular post office, then to us, but we didn't get it. Didn't offer to do anything. I then tracked down the carrier for the route we were on and found out it had been riding in his vehicle for 2 days because he wasn't sure about delivering something with a different name to the address shown. Sender had neglected to put the c/o portion of the address in. Wonder how long it would have ridden in his vehicle with no one having any idea where it really was?? Tracking doesn't always work.
