I'm curious, why would bearings go bad quickly if a trailer sits for 2-3 months? Never heard of that before.
I think what he is referring to is called berneling where a bearing develops flat spots. This happened a lot back in the 70 when cars were shipped on trains. I don't believe it is much of a problem today. I'm a retired truck tech and I haven't seen it in a long time. Now cheap bearing may still have problems.
Easiest way to make sure is to jack the wheels off the ground if the RV isn't going to be moved for a while, also keeps tires from developing flat spots.
