Buy used RV

HI all, I am looking to purchase a used Class A, and live in NJ. I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a reputable dealer within 500 miles. I hear all kinds of horror stories about poor service after a purchase and am a little cautious. Thanks for any help on this matter. Allen
  • We bought our current Motorhome from White Horse RV in Williamstown, NJ. We are considering another purchase from them. The dealership is family owned. They are good people. We have talked with several salesman and none of them are your typical high pressure sales folk - we like Alicia Kelly and Mike Cohen. Dave Munan is a good guy, but he is a typical salesman. He is no pressure though. Will Calvert in their parts department is a stand up guy and knowledgeable. They also have a dealership in Galloway Township, but we've never visited that location. They've never serviced our motorhome, so I can't give any feedback there. The only warranty issue we dealt with through them was the lock on the front door. They sent us a new lock with a paid shipping label to return the failed one. Usually the weekend before Memorial Day, they have an on-site "Show Sale".

We purchased our first camper from Hitcharama, now Hitch RV in Turnersville, NJ - a few miles north of White Horse RV. Both are on Rt 42 (Blackhorse Pike). We had no post sales dealings with Hitch RV. They don't have a large selection of Motorhomes, but they have some. They sell more Park Models and Travel Trailers.

I'd also recommend Driftwood RV in Clermont, NJ, but they don't sell Motorhomes.

  • It's a little far from your local, but I've been doing business with McGeorge Rolling Hills RV in Ashland, VA since the early 90's. They will treat you right in both sales, service & customer support.

I;m glad to hear they evidently have improved then since their service dept. has been slammed here on occasion.
