What you end up getting for that $8000 used could end up costing you more to get it in shape. A TT with a tow vehicle would probably be better as if the MH engine went you loose the whole trailer too ( based on your money restrictions). With a MH are you towing another vehicle or just driving the MH to camp? You would need a dolly or base plates and tow bars and additional braking otherwise ( more money). So you have less to spend on the actual motor home or you'll need to come up with more for the extras.
