Buying First Motor Home

Thanks Isaac-1 and DrewE ,,great information..and to you, Isaac-1,, At first the home will set here at the house as I try to work out any bugs or small repairs..My wife is still working so our use time will be limited until I can get her to go all in..We are in our mid 50's and knocking on that door,,but I am retired US Navy,,I'm ready!! I may take a few small trips on my own to try and get ME broke in,,should I stay close and local at first just to test out systems and drive-ability?? Typically I want to go north in the summer,,south in the winter,,and west during spring and fall..I want to drive 2 tank fulls and stop until my next check comes in then fill up and do it again..I'll keep busy through my church doing jobs for elderly members that can't otherwise get jobs done..I know..I am dreaming..but eventually I would love to make it to the west coast..To you DrewE,,That is a good idea about the rental options,,I'll look but don't think there are any around me..I want to buy from a private seller but am worried that I could get taken..I know there is a mark-up by dealers but am thinking at least I'll have someone standing behind it..Is that wrong thinking??
