Thanks Jim for the info. We don't do it all the time and only some provinces allow it also. In ontario....in order to pull a trailer and boat you first have to have a black plate. In other words a full size truck. No SUV, van or car. You must stay under 75ft and your total weight under 10,000 lbs. Over that weight your license has to change.
