Campground rates RVing on a budget

I was floored when I saw a campground advertising on this site for 4500 a month or $150 a day for just an RV spot. To me that is the cost of a luxurious home. I want to pay around $500 or less a month on campground fees. I checked and the local lake in Kansas is $250 a month for a nice site with electricity. For $500 a month are there just certain areas that will be off limits? Is it possible to find an RV site in Florida for $500 a month? I know not the beach but maybe the interior. What is the average campground fee? Is it hard to find affordable campgrounds? Just wondering if I am going to be limited to RVing in places like Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma due to cost. I would love to RV in Florida, California, Oregon, Washington, etc. but am wondering if that is just going to be out of our budget.

  • I'd be afraid to buy a bundle of wood at a place charging $4,500. Probably burning hundred bills.
  • That $4500 park would be the top of the top price wise. Saying parks are too expensive based on this one example would be like saying you can't afford to decorate your walls because a Van Gogh sells for more than 100 million.
  • Oregon and Washington State are littered with beautiful RV Parks (FHU) for around $500.00/mo and under.

  • We're paying under $450 on the Gulf Coast along Hwy 19 and stayed on the Atlantic Side near Stuart for under $500 both included electric and full hook ups. They are out there you just have to look but they are not Resorts!! Same when we stay up in MI but on the road we use passport as much as possible for over night stays!
  • Except in high demand areas or RV "resorts" you should be able to find RV parks under $40/day. And if you use federal/state/COE/city parks you can do even better.
  • $4500 a month for an RV site!!!
You will be hard pressed to find ANY place in Oregon or Washington where you can pay even close to that much.

Please post a link to this $4500 a month RV Park.
