I had a honda 2000 with my old camper. It was OK. It did start my 13.5 a/c on several trys. Had to start fan first and try to catch it...
If I had a smaller generator I would get a smart start or soft start for the a/c that reduces the amps.
I dont have that generator anymore.
What I have is a kohler I acquired from work when they went out of business.. They dont make them anymore this size but its a great little 2400 watt gen..
And quieter then the honda was.
Dont look at the price...

But if I was to have to buy one the choice is do you really need to run the a/c?????
If not then get enough watts to power your converter. My converter wants like 1000 watts to charge the batts. So I look into like a 1500 watter.
Now at only 65 db compared to 53 for an inverter this $200 model would suit me fine. I only run the gen if no sun and need to charge batts back up. Run time not even 4 hours.
Im cheap so this is something I would consider...

Now what would I really get? As the above poster mentioned, and I dont know the price yet is this gas/propane dual fuel unit...
I cant wait for it to come out. I may sell my kohler...
