Choosing the right Travel Trailer for our family

Hi, this is my first post.

My husband and I are looking for our first TT for our family. We are a family of 5 -- three children ages 11, 9 and 6.

We have 1/2 tonne truck, so weight is a factor.

We are looking for recommendations for manufacturer and models. The features we like so far are aluminum interior construction, vacuum bonded walls, outside bathroom entrance, bunkhouse, and outside kitchen -- even just a small fridge for water would be handy.

We would be staying close to home for the first year, and then if we want to go further may consider upgrading the tow vehicle.

I would appreciate hearing your opinions.
thank you!

Hi, and welcome to the forums.

I am going to suggest a Lance 2185 because it fits all your needs, except for the outdoor galley.

Keep in mind, that Lance also builds Truck Campers, but the construction for the trailers is exactly the same.

Lance is now into the 2014 model year now and they carry a 2 Year Warranty

The GVWR is 6,000 and the dry weight is 3,930.

Overall length is 25'8" and can sleep 7 people.

It would be perfect for your rig to tow:

It also seems as if you're interested in good, solid construction and that is one of Lance's strong suits as well.

If you can live without the outdoor kitchen, the Lance would be a perfect fit. Take a look at the factory tour for some insight into great construction techniques.

    Good luck with your search,

By the way, I'm a very happy Lance owner. Take a look below for some additional Lance info.
