There is no one single best resource. It would be nice if there were a consumer reports for RV's but there isn't. While asking on the forum is a great place to get information, you will also get a lot of opinions usually in the flavor of what the particular poster owns. Salesmen are no help either. Your first and foremost considerations should be floorplan and price point. You are going to live in it. And not just camped either, how does the floorplan work while going down the road (our older 29.1 didn't have access to cabinets etc while the slide was in as an example). Pick your floorplan then shop brands. Despite what just about everyone says in the brand hierarchy, they are all pretty much the same build quality. I would challenge anyone to visit 10 MH's without knowing what brand and see if they could tell the difference. When I was shopping, it took quite a while. I built spreadsheets and ranked them based on weight, CCC, tow capacity, length, wheelbase, slides, cost, jacks, paint, warranty, flooring materials, shower size, storage, etc. and then made several notes. Heck I even drilled down to the latch types on the bins and fuel fill location. I basically captured every critical detail so I had it all on one page. Once I had it narrowed down to one or 2 models, I created a new tab and listed the pricing I could get at 5-10 dealerships. Again, whittling down to the right unit at the right price at the right dealer. Lots of analysis. That said I am an analyst by trade. It's a lot of work, but it was the only way I knew how to gather all the information I needed to make a decision. Was funny I knew so much more about what the MH I was shopping for than every dealer I met. I actually showed them a few things. I knew what I wanted and the price I would pay. The dealer was simply there to take my money. Heck I bought our 29.2 over the phone in 15 minutes. I knew exactly what I wanted and what 8 other dealer's best price was.
