Class A comparison?

Is there a simple resource that can give a newbie an idea of how class A brands compare? I guess I would relate the question to cars; some are Chevys, some are Fords, some are Cadillacs and some are Lincolns. Wife and I are considering FTing when I retire in about 2-3 years. I don't want to fall in love with a motorhome and discover I love the Pinto or the Yugo of Class As. How do they rank?

  • There is no single resource. You will find, and rather quickly, there are many, many opinions and they will vary widely.
When we were trying to decipher and decide what to buy, I started reading posts from here nightly, esp. FAQ. I quickly became familiar with brands and the hierarchy of coach manufacturers.
One point to keep in mind, along with all the the coach particulars, is finding a coach and floorplan that best suits you and your particular family's needs. That should factor in as mightily as any other consideration.
Enjoy the search, it is just the beginning! But, the beginning it is!!
  • I bought a Class A a few years back. It was a gas V-10 and it slowed down on every hill. I really don't recommend considering a gas Class A. If you get a Class A you will almost assuredly need to tow a vehicle. That makes the train even longer, no backing up, etc. I greatly prefer my Era. Of course, I don't full time in my Class B. Just my 2 cents.
