As far as the service issue goes, we've broken down several times over the years with various motorhomes, and the only time we've had to leave one at repair facility was when we blew an engine in a Class C. It took two weeks for the auto repair business to source and install a rebuilt engine while we stayed in a KOA cabin. Since we've been living in Class A's with Ford chassis, we've had a transmission replaced and a complete rear end replaced, both in less than a week while we stayed in the coach every night. For the transmission replacement, we spent 3 of the 5 days in a very nice campground nearby waiting for a remanned transmission to arrive from Ford. The only time we've moved out of a Class A for a couple of days was voluntarily while it was being repainted and we wanted to avoid the smell. All of our major Class A repair work has been done at truck repair businesses, never at an RV dealer. I did have a Ford truck dealer pull a vacuum and recharge a dash A/C one time after I replaced the compressor and dryer though. They were nearby, and the relatively small difference in their price and another facility further away wouldn't have paid for the gas to get there. That one was a while you wait event...
