Having had both, here's our take:
Class C:
A bit easier to maneuver
Looks like I'll be "upgrading" from a C and trailer to an A toy hauler in a few days.
Based on my test drive today:
Most C's "feel" like driving a large van or suv.....although they are a bit bigger than that.
Driving a medium to large A IS DRIVING A BUS.
It FEELS a LOT larger.
EVERY potential driver should get an extensive test drive before deciding on an A. I'm pretty sure that I know several people who just would NOT be able to handle the "driving a bus" feeling.
Yes, they feel bigger, but you get used to it quickly. By the end of my first trip (only a 200 mile round trip jaunt), I had gotten used to the size and now I love it; don't miss the driving aspect of my class C one little bit. I love the higher seating position. I love the unequaled visibility out of the front and side windows (up, down, sides, front...). I love not having to look over a hood. I love being able to see the sky. I love the spaciousness of the driver's area. Kinda hard to explain, but in a way, I no longer feel like I'm "driving", but rather I'm relaxing while piloting.:C
