Cost comparison - motorhome vs. travel trailer

We are right in the middle of the same research. A MH will definitely cost us more, but we think it fit our planned lifestyle better. We plan on doing a lot of traveling; all around the U.S., into Canada, maybe Mexico. I would like to drive to Alaska. My impression is that a MH will hold up better if you are doing a lot of moving around. We also want as much storage as possible since this will be our home for several years or more.
