Each year our toad goes around 7-8,000 miles using zero gallons of gas, and 25-30 MPG the other 10,000 or so when unhooked. That plus the other factors favoring a motorhome for our RV lifestyle, such as the increased storage space, minimal setup needs when arriving at a site, accessibility of the bath and kitchen facilities without leaving the vehicle while underway, etc., determined our choice. Today was a good example of why we favor a motorhome. We arrived at our destination park in pouring rain, got our pull-thru site number from the office by phone with a request that we come in and do the paperwork when the rain let up. We drove around to our assigned pull-thru site, parked, pushed a button to level the coach with the jacks, pressed another switch to run out our super slide, and one last button to fire up the generator. Then we unstowed our laptops and fired up the rooftop dish to watch the Sharknado marathon on the SyFy channel. When the rain let up an hour or so later, we casually went about the business of hooking up and registering, never getting touched by a single raindrop. We've had TT's, van conversions, a small Class C, and three Class A's over the years. Each one served us well for the time period we had it, but we didn't hesitate to move on to another RV type and/or size as our needs and wants changed over the years. Cost is always a consideration of course, but for us, never the ONLY consideration...
