The RV sofas usually can be either folded flat or easily disassembled. Same goes for LazyBoy replacement recliners. They fold flat. By the way, if you're ordering a brand new RV, don't try to talk the dealer into switching out the sofa for chairs. You won't get full price for doing that and the chair will probably be cheapies, not LazyBoys. Just accept the RV as it comes and do the switching yourself and sell the sofa yourself. You'll get a better dollar amt. Good luck!
I agree. Take the RV with the standard issue furniture, and then swap it out yourself.
There are recliner brands out there, beyond Lazy Boy, that have removable backs. Cheaper in price, but comparable quality. The removable backs makes it super simple to get them in the door. We found a high quality reclining loveseat with removable backs in the "scratch and dent" section. Cost was a few hundred dollars. Then we replaced that (because it was so comfy we took it into the house) with another "scratch and dent" purchase of a section of sectional sofa - tag said $1200, and it cost us $125. It had a rip in the fabric on the back, which made no difference to us. It fit oh-so perfectly (wish I could post a photo!) and it was amazingly comfortable!
In order to fit our original RV sofa out the door, all we had to do was remove the feet off the sofa. That gave it the clearance we needed - which was all of about 1/4" on each side. It was wicked tight to get out, but that's fine because once it was out, we knew it wasn't going back in.... You also need to get creative and "wiggle" it out in all sorts of crazy positions. Think outside the box, instead of the typical carrying it out with it in a "normal" seated position....
