the part I don't like about Texas is their vehicle inspection. just another piece of red tape I don't want to wrap myself in.

We also were concerned with the vehicle inspections however they only have to be done when/if you return to Texas. Our initial inspection was done in July 2010 when we first purchased the truck. We didn't return to Texas until January, 2013 which is when we had the second inspection done. Not expensive either.
