I use Google Maps for routing. I then look about where I want to stop and find a campground using www.woodalls.com There is an "open all year" option on the left after you search by city, to filter the results for open all year. If the weather looks good, I would take I-278 to I-78 to I-76 to I-70. Check the weather for the entire travel time then adjust the route accordingly. There is a KOA in Washington PA. I-79 exit 33. Get a KOA card to save 10 percent. Camp Lakewood in Effingham, IL is about 7 hours from there. I-70 exit 162. Read info on their website about construction and best directions. There is a KOA in Salina KS about 7.5 hours from Effingham. KOA's are fairly expensive but you can look to see if they have water and electric only sites. Wish you all the best and a safe journey.
