We have found most everyone while out camping to be nice with differing degrees of social interaction. We will tend to keep to ourselves but do a lot of waving while walking around.

And there are extremes both ways:
One time a neighbor next campsite over asked if us if cigar smoke would bother us, we said no. So every evening he would fire one up and then go back inside his RV. That was the only time we saw him the entire time we were there over a week. One morning he is hooking up and says "Your the best neighbor I had yet, you didn't bother me once"
Another time when out for a stroll, I just waved and said 'Hi" at this lady sitting under her awning. 1/2 hour later she is walking 3 dogs on a leash by us. She waves as she walks by, I wave back and say nice dogs. She makes a turn into our lot and gives me the entire life of her dogs for about an hour.
Neither one is good or bad, just different people.
