Curious on the social aspect of rv'ing

It is different trip to trip but we wave, say hi etc to everyone. Sometime we talk to people walking or the neighbors but sometimes they seem to keep to their selves. We generally don't invite people to campfires or get invited. If we are in a group then we tend to stay more to ourselves.
